Tank Girl Costume

After searching for days for a Tank Girl fancy dress costume, I realised I would have to make my own. Digging about in some dark and dusty corners, I found allsorts of old brick-a-brac lurking. A few hours of lovingly attaching all sorts of items to my hat, my costume is almost finished... Just the delivery of my artillery of weapons and my transformation will be complete. Minus a big green tank anyway!

Office Chair

Stopped in for coffee with a friend. Having never been into her office I was amazed when I saw what she sat on... potato weighing scales. Probably not the most comfortable ergonomic office chair you can have in your office!

iphone Applications

Graphic Designers can now thanks FORmation for it's design orientated applications.

Kern, is a typography based game that tests player’s ability to accurately place a missing letter in a word. Scores are calculated based on type size, leading amount and accuracy of letter placement.

Eye vs. Eye challenges color-matching skills against an opponent with a random target color that flashes which players then have to use three sliders (RGB) to match the target.

Snow Winching

With the water frozen we used the winch for some snow action. You can see me at about 3.25 into the clip. The front edge cartwheel... ouch.

Helius Beauty & Hair Salon

After a total rebrand for top beauty & hair salon, Helius, I decided to go and test some of the lovely treatments on offer. There was no point sending Dan, he has no hair or nails and he just clearly wouldn't appreciate an eyebrow wax or relaxing facial like I would!. Helius are based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, just a short drive from our studio.

I was very very pleased with my hair, nails and facial and will certainly be returning to the salon. They are top of their game so top marks girlies. Oh and someone has made a great job of all Helius' design & print ;)

No girls allowed! Disney rejection letter - 1938

Web designer Kevin Burg discovered his Grandmothers beautifully preserved rejection letter from Walt Disney Productions in 1938, telling her that she wasn't welcome at animator training school because she was a girl! Amazing.

Vibration Training

Well, they say 'New Year New You' and after a Christmas that was not so kind to my waistline, I gave up blaming my tight jeans on washing machine shrinkage and decided to do something about it. After 3 weeks away from wakeboarding due to a frozen lake, I decided I needed another form of exercise in my life, so I joined Resonance Vibration Training, a cosy studio in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.

It is said to be a preferred exercise option for busy celebrities & has even been introduced into the regimes of a couple of Premier League football clubs. With state-of-the-art machines imported from the USA, Resonance is one of the few studios or gyms in the UK who are members of the I.V.T.R.B. (International Vibration Training Regulating Body). I was sold.

So what is vibration training? It involves holding stationary positions on the vibrating platforms such squats, press-ups, lunges etc. for around a minute. The high powered machines force your muscles to contract at around 40 times a second (or more) in order to maintain balance and causes them to fatigue in record time. A super concentrated workout for the muscles that are worked at 100% capacity, compared to around 40% in traditional resistance training, promoting speedy muscle growth, but also requiring large amounts of energy to be burned, resulting in weight loss. Perfect!

The machines have many other benefits and after just over 1 week I have already lost an inch on my stomach and 4lbs in weight!

Ice ice baby

Here are some pictures of the effect this years winter is having on us!
Pictured first is Box End Park completely frozen. No boarding this weekend then!
The second picture is of Simon Amos' shorts. As Box End Park & WakeMK at Willen was closed he and some of the guys attempted to find spots to go winching & noticed that his wet boardies had frozen. Excellent.

Graffiti

A creative start to 2009 as my 12 year old second cousin graffitied my face on countdown to the new year. Another budding artist in the family maybe?

Polar Bear & Sled Dogs

Wildlife photographer Norbert Rosing was taking photographs of a team of Huskies in North Canada when a polar bear appeared. Rosing watched helplessly as the bear grew closer, but with a strange twist of fate the animals made friends and the bear returned daily for play with the sled dogs. These pictures are truly amazing.

Buy the ticket, take the ride.

Filmed and edited by Martyn Bindloss at Box End Park, this video features some great riding from BEP members, plus pro riders
Declan Clifford and Will Manns. My 2 seconds of fame is featured at about 3:45, where I indy grab over the little kicker. Martin also builds the parks obstacles and is a great friend so big shout to Marty and thanks for featuring me in this video. A great keepsake to my first summer cable wakeboarding.

Ronix Coy

I can't tell you how many times I slipped on my boardies and stood in the mirror looking at my brand shiny new Ronix Coy and Melissa bindings. This would come as no suprise to the people that know me well. As a child, I would be so excited about my new shoes I would often sleep in them. I decided sleeping with my board attached to my feet might be a little OTT and so I'd just have to wait to hit the big drink. On application, this set up was all I could have wished for and the moment the board slid across the water, I was in love.
