Bataleon Snowboards

Gotta love the TBT (triple base technology)... and after test riding one today, I'm all over it. 'All the gear and no idea' they say, but hey, better to get what you want the first time round. Just a little disappointed with the graphics. I can picture it now, top of the mountain, ready to go, lovingly I look down only to be faced with a white horse hiding in long grass staring back up at me. Not my idea of gnarly graphics but hey... a few skull stickers and I'll be rocking!

Do Somethin Clothing

Inspired by french Wakeskater Hendrik Jaulin & his passion to shout out 'do somethin' we collaborated to create a range of screen printed clothing for the members of Box End Park Cable Wakeboarding Centre in Bedfordshire.

Aimed at any extreme sports person this saying quickly spread (all shouted with a french accent of course) & even became abbreviated to FFS DS... which I'm sure you clever readers can work out for yourselves exactly what it means... :o)

I am sooo LOVING my zoodie! Do Somethin.

Project VFR400 NC30 Restoration Complete

Brand shiny new & I can't wait to get out on the road again. Autumn riding is always good, not too hot, not too cold. Looking at this bike it's so hard to believe that I've owned it for 13 years & now parts of it look better than when I originally stood there staring at it all those years ago.

I owe all this to friend Andy Shoosmith, who's creativity & generosity knows no bounds. After recently restoring a friends Peugeot 205 into a lean mean drifting machine, my pride & joy was project 2. Sat in the carpeted workshop (yes, you heard correctly, carpeted) I saw this retro pocket rocket return to it's former glory.

So, a million zillion thanks to Andy Shoosmith. Anyone local that doesn't take their cars or bikes to Gavin Fleet Care in Kempston, will be tortured to death by means of feather dusters & rusty nails.

Tank Girl does Curly Wurlys!

Well, I was rather chuffed to see my all time hero wielding a Curly Wurly in her boot. The illustrations above are from the official Tank Girl website & are for the new comics due to be released in 2010, drawn by the uber talented Rufus.

Also above are our recently redesigned business cards with quotes that we used to replace those cheesy marketing strap lines that alot of creatives seem to use. We decided to do something that was actually true to us & reflected a little humour into something that people are often so serious about.

May my local post office continue to sell Curly Wurlys and long live Tank Girl.

VFR400 (NC30) - The Restoration Part 2

Almost finished now & I am amazed at how shiny brand new she's looking. The dash is actually better than it was in it's original condition after Andy took it apart & painted everything. Now it just looks sleek! All brackets are polished, the exhaust looks brand spanking new and the damage to the hanger plate made by a white van can't even be seen. Black forks, painted brake discs & sticky new tyres... just need a little bit of white paint to touch in the chips on the alloys then she's ready to rock!

This winter, it will mostly be parked in the dining room again. So the question is, where will I park that Ducati 848 that's on Santa's list? Erm, sofa anyone?

Halo Light-Writing

Inspired by the awesome aissalogerot's halo light-writing tools (top pic) I decided to have a dabble with the help of my housemate/trusty assistant/guinea pig. Filled with creative ideas, we decided it was best to postpone a late night graffiti session around the village & leave the rain to be enjoyed by the ducks.

P120 Fighter Combat

LOVING this bike. Only 120 in production from

Wall-E v VFR400 (NC30) - The Restoration

Before restoration... parked in the dining room last christmas.

During restoration... stripped & looking rather sad at friends garage.

What once resembled a motorcycle, took on the form of something completely different today. The rare as rocking horse sh*t, UK Spec 1992 Honda VFR400 NC30, was stripped for stage one of restoration. First stop & a jet wash helps to rid years of built up grease & grime. Staring at the bike in it's naked vulnerable state, I can't help but think of the film Wall-E, as the headlights stare at me with a slight look of fear. And for a very split second, I could have sworn it winked at me.

Stage 2 comprised of cleaning the wheels, polishing, masking & spraying. As a girl who will climb walls to escape any sound that resembles filing or drilling, I left that part to the boys & was given the job of masking the brake discs. To say this was more fiddly than trying to paint your nails in the back of a car driven by a learner for the very first time, might be a slight exaggeration, but nonetheless it caused me to curse a few times. It was then sprayed with a heat proof black paint followed by a clear lacquer to make it look shiny & brand new again!

All foot pegs, hangers & anything else that was metal & needed a scrub, was cleaned & polished. The masking part was pretty painless compared to my next task, which was straightening up the radiator fins damaged by stones. Using a very thin screwdriver I had to push all the *wafer thin* (french accent) metal back to it's original position, to ensure that the air could pass through successfully.

Stage 3 tomorrow night! HUGE thanks to Andy at Gavin Fleet Care & Gibbo who is probably the coolest Fettler in the world.

Incy Wincy Ipod Shuffle

I can't wait to use my brand new Apple ipod shuffle in the gym. (Thanks Trap 5!!!) The first ipod that 'talks'... Genius.

Tag Team

After 2 years of being completely taken over by the wakeboarding bug & heading for the lake almost daily come rain or shine, I thought about getting out on my bike a bit more. Whilst on facebook one evening, I came across some pictures of friends known in the Ducati Racing world as Lily & Freak. As you can see, this husband & wife tag team really know how to crash in style! Both ended up with some nasty injuries and bravely enough have both jumped back on bikes AND are still happily married! Now that is true love for you.

Erm, back to the lake for me then!

Wakeberging

Red Bull invite 3 of the world’s best wakeboarders - Parks Bonifay, Adam Errington, and Josh Sanders to travel to Newfoundland for a first-ever, two-day expedition chasing and riding icebergs. Riders braved the ocean waters – 4C and icebergs roughly 60-feet tall and 150-feet wide, the mammoth-size-iceberg near Trinity East had the riders stoked, and local fishermen shaking their heads. Sick.

Tank Girl Costume

After searching for days for a Tank Girl fancy dress costume, I realised I would have to make my own. Digging about in some dark and dusty corners, I found allsorts of old brick-a-brac lurking. A few hours of lovingly attaching all sorts of items to my hat, my costume is almost finished... Just the delivery of my artillery of weapons and my transformation will be complete. Minus a big green tank anyway!

Office Chair

Stopped in for coffee with a friend. Having never been into her office I was amazed when I saw what she sat on... potato weighing scales. Probably not the most comfortable ergonomic office chair you can have in your office!

iphone Applications

Graphic Designers can now thanks FORmation for it's design orientated applications.

Kern, is a typography based game that tests player’s ability to accurately place a missing letter in a word. Scores are calculated based on type size, leading amount and accuracy of letter placement.

Eye vs. Eye challenges color-matching skills against an opponent with a random target color that flashes which players then have to use three sliders (RGB) to match the target.

Snow Winching

With the water frozen we used the winch for some snow action. You can see me at about 3.25 into the clip. The front edge cartwheel... ouch.
